Title:

NeuroKinect: 3D Movement Quantification in Neurologic Diseases

Abstract:

The line of research in this area has as a goal to study the association between the movement of each of the body parts with the electrical and functional activity measured in the brain simultaneously through caps electrodes and electrodes surgically implanted in the brain. This paradigm is extensible to several neurological disorders.

Recently a new set of motion sensors (eg. KINECT, MEMS chips) making the 3D capture information of human body much easier and cheaper than hitherto appeared on the market. This project will explore some methods already tested and new methods which make use of new sensors in different clinical settings.
